Daybreak interviewed the recently appointed Special Ambassador Anthony Okara on the new effort of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance to advance the continental malaria agenda through increased collaboration with regional economic blocs.
In the wide-ranging interview Ambassador Okara highlights key priorities that include increasing domestic resource mobilisation and multisectoral collaboration through the establishment of End Malaria Funds and Councils, promoting local manufacturing and establishing a continental youth army. The interview also highlights the ALMA chair, His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta’s key priorities to help eliminate malaria on the continent.
