Youth engagement

His Excellency, Uhuru Kenyatta, former President of the Republic of Kenya (from 2013 to 2022) and ALMA Chair from January 2020 to August 2022, made engaging young people in the fight against malaria a key part of his agenda.

This commitment supports the African Union’s (AU) efforts to encourage youth leadership towards the goals set in the Africa Youth Charter, the AU Roadmap on Harnessing the Demographic Dividend Through Investments in Youth (PDF) and Agenda 2063.

Now is the time to leverage the potential of young people to eliminate malaria by 2030, and work with them for faster and more effective delivery of health services at all levels.
